Default Body Armor Trail Doors on order

Over three weeks ago, I placed an order for these Body Armor Trail Doors for my 2007 Rubi. The order was placed with 4wd.com, and I had them shipped to my local 4wheelparts store to save the shipping. Good price, saved shipping, great. Problem is, they were backordered, still are, and I am getting no real information as to when they will be here. Last I heard was maybe shipping from BA to 4wheelparts in CA around 6/23.

My questions are these:

Are the BA doors worth the wait? From the research I did, they seem to have the most rattle-free latching mechanism, and that is big with me.

Does anyone know if any vendors have these in stock?

Are there any other doors that members can say are also rattle-free and better for the $$?

Thanks for any input. The deciding factors on my ordering these were rattle free latches, and the cost, around $250 when I ordered them.

It also irks me when vendors like 4wd.com or any others take your $$ up front, but know full well they are backordered and you might seem them in a month or two. They should charge you when they ship.

Personally, I think the Rancho tubular doors are much nicer. Plus, you can attach the mirrors to their stock position on those doors. Body Armor is nice, but I would have gone Rancho. Therefore, I do not think the wait is worth it. I would call and see if they have Rancho or Bestop tubulars in, and spend the money on either of those brands.

I'm glad you posted this. I'm about to order the same doors, front & rear.

Some vendors do wait to charge you when they ship, but honestly, from their perspective they have to ensure you have sufficient funds when you place an order. Sure, they can place a "hold" on your credit card, but what about Paypal or other means. And if they wait too long, what if your funds are no longer available for some reason?

I agree with you, however, that they should inform buyers of items on backorder... No reasonable person wants to wait months to receive something. Stuff like that I always call and ask if they're in stock when I place an order... for other little stuff I just do it online.

I hope you get your doors soon!! Please let us know how things develop.

Hey bud, sorry about the long wait, I know that can be a big pain in the butt.

Like I said before, I really like my set- and I'm pretty sure after you get yours, you'll enjoy them too

I like the Rancho doors also, but did not find any input on the latching mechanism that made me confident they would not rattle. Do you have any input on that? Do you own them? I didn't plan on using my stock mirrors, I was ordering some extra mirrors to use permanently attached to the trail doors, and the TJ version (which the Body Armor use) are cheaper than the JK replacement mirrors...appreciate the input, though, thanks.

Thanks, I appreciate the recommendation. I found that once you find what you like, if you order something else just to get it sooner, you usually are sorry. BigRedJK actually checked with Body Armor, and they explained the backorder situation...they got caught with their production pants down, not anticipating the demand this season in time... Kudos to BigRedJK.

i got my rear doors yesterday. I ordered through amazon (Truck and Winch). They killed me shipping but they got here pretty quick and i'm in hawaii. I also ordered the mirrors and they shipped from PA. The front doors haven't shipped and the estimated date kept pushing back. The Truck and Winch distributors have them listed as "in stock" so i cancelled my amazon order and ordered through them. Killed me again in shipping but they're probably the only ones that have them for a while. I originally ordered them through 4WD to pick up at the store here and they said they were back ordered. The store here called to tell me they were back ordered and were cool about cancelling the order. I can't put the back doors on until the fronts get here. I can't wait.....

I have them too and love them. I think they are the coolest looking doors and yep, they are rattle free. I also bought mine as scratch and dent for almost half price.

Still no real information from local 4wheelparts store. They said they have contacted Body Armor, and they are supposed to ship around 6/22 or 6/23...this from the same guy who told me the Compton store had some coming in on 5/27 and my order would come out of that shipment...

Anyway, I have checked all over the country, no one has them in stock. Anywhere I ordered from now would put me back at the end of the line, so it's just wait or forget about getting these and go on to some other mod...
