Which tire comes closest to the size claims by the manufacturer? I want 35s, but most of the posts I've read state that 35s are not actually 35s; they are more like 34s and some even states less than 34s.

So, if 35s are 34s, why not buy 37s? - They will actually measure 36 or 35, right?

I have 37" Mud Grapplers and they measured 36.5" mounted to the JKU.

You need to look at the specs for each tire. You can usually find this on the tire manufacturer's website or places like tire rack. They will tell you the actual tire diameter. BFG KM2's tend to run small, MTR w/Kevlar tend to run more true to size, etc, etc. You just need to do a a little homework on the tires that most interest you.

Also, you may be able to find a 35 on a 17" wheel that is smaller/larger than a 35 that fits a 15" wheel. If you're set on a particular wheel size then this makes the search a little easier.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've been looking at the Duratracs/35s. If they measure 34.5, that's perfect because I do not want to lift my Jeep.
