Not driving as well with Steelies.
I had 35's with Alloys and the Jeep drove so well hardly noticed the difference but since changing to series 97 pro comps yesterday now I realize why people need gears, the added weight has slowed it down and it feels a lot heavier taking off just from that combo plus fuel economy has shrunk, oh well looks sweet!

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed this, mine weigh 47lbs a piece
I like steelies for there durability...mine have taken a beating in the rocks, and keep coming back for more...and for the fact that they are somewhat inexpensive.
That being said I will be going with alloys when I get my next set of tires.

Not all 15” steel wheels fit over the JK’s breaks. In fact I only heard of one that does.
This is the first 4x4 where I started with alloys and went to Steelies so never noticed, my next set will be alloy pro comps light and tough! Or just get more power and better gearing so I wouldn't noticed either way!

That's weird.
I guess it's not quite an apples to apples comparison, but I just went from the stock 16" x 7" steelies with P225 75 R16s (29" tire) to 15" x 8" steelies with 33" x 12.50" MTs, which equals a HUGE increase in weight on each hub. Way more than just going from alloy to steel with the same tires I imagine, and I hardly notice a difference power wise.
