Just installed with 91 tune, but I thought I read the tow tune with 91 seems best. My question is it one or the other, or is it a combo 91 on the tow tune?

The questions isn't which one is best, but which one is best 'for you'. And only you can answer that.

For me, the 87 tune/gas was no improvement over the basic procal calibration. The 91 tune/gas was worse than 87. The tow tune with 91 was by far the best, again, for me. Try different tunes and see which works best for you.

 

Since no two vehicles or drivers are exactly alike it does seem to be a bit trial & error. Ours was very noticably better (mostly shift points) with the 87 & when I loaded the 91 without telling my wife she noticed right away. Unless there is a problem, I'd give each attempt a couple of days to adjust.

 

Ok, so I guess you either tune to 91 and have to run 91, or tune to tow and can run 87? I thought the tuner had like a tow at 91, or a tow at 87 program?

 

Read the manual. People are running tow tune with 87, (some have pinging issues, some don't) but your manual will tell you to use 91.

 

91 tune works best for me, only problem is only 2 gastations around carry 91.

 

Tow setting is nice but I noticed shift points are better at 91 when you floor it.
