Default 35s: How many miles before something breaks?

Put about 70 miles on the 315/70/17 Duratracs and while the ride is tolerable, you can definitely feel these are heavy on the JK, I want to hear from those running 35s for a long time… let’s say 50,000 miles or so.

Break anything? I feel like the ball joints hate me…maybe it’s all in my head

What kind of wheeling do you do? If you do alot of rocks, surely sooner rather than later but its all about throttle control..just dont gun it over stuff..that's what I have learned to do over time and the only things I have busted are power steering pumps and a rear driveshaft.

I got almost 50K on mine, i did have to replace a ball joint, but that was because I fell into a hole while wheeling one time.

JP magazine ran 35's for a long time, check out the article and you can see the issues they had.

Well my JK has about 14k miles on it so I have about 13k on my 35's. The only issues I have had was backed into a tree on a trail busting stock tire carrier ( if spare was smaller I wouldn't have hit tree) and I bent a rear control arm ( if I had stock rubber I would have never made it to where I bent the LCA). Other than that no issues.

What are you running for tire pressure? My 35's ride smooth as silk, no issues. Even a few extra pounds will effect your ride. If you have not chalk tested your tires you should do so and see if you can lower your air pressure.
