Default Gas Mileage Questions or concerns

I have searched this site and haven't found my issue and I need to vent and ask questions. I'm wondering if I got a lemon.

First off, I had a 2007 JK Wrangler X Automatic, I put a leveling kit on it and 33's, Goodyear Duratracs. I would get, bare with me, I'm in Canada, 14 litres/100 kms on the highway. This would equate to just over 500 km per tank of gas. I had the Superchips tune as well.

Now, recently, I traded my Jeep in for a 2011 JK Wrangler Sahara Automatic, I moved the exact same leveling kit and tires over to it with the same tune. I went on a road trip this past weekend and I could hardly get 350 km per tank of gas. I was getting at best 21 litres/100 kms. WTF?

Lets get this straight, I didn't buy the Jeep expecting great fuel economy. It was never my concern. However, I'm wondering why the drastic difference though. Travelling at 120 km/hr, the Jeep sat at 3000 RPM the whole time. That seems very high. Am I missing something?

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I change my tune?

Unless I missed something, the superchip does not currently work with the 2011. So I can't see how any changes were made for your larger tires or anything else for that matter. So your odometer, tripometer, and mileage gauge are probably not reading accurately.

Oh sorry, the dealership did the tune over to the new Jeep. But, maybe that is the problem...

If you are turning over 3000RPM at 120km/hour in an automatic, I would guess that you have your overdrive turned off...that would cause a lot higher fuel consumption.

Slow down to 100k. Enjoy the ride. Better fuel economy. I can get about 600k to a tank at between 9.8 l/100k and 13 l/100k depending on wind and stuff.

x2
the dealer tune simply disables your OD and turns the OD light off.

Put that computer back to stock and you will be doing 120km/hr and 1100 RPM just like me

I rock a 2011 SKU as well

You might have different gears in your rig?

I have a 2010 Sport, bone stock with 32's, and after 30k ive been averaging around 10.5L/100km. I cant see 33' inch tires adding more than maybe 1L/100km.
