I have 35s on a 16 inch rim. just a little rubbing but I got wheel spacers just to be safe. You don't want brand new 35s getting slice up lol

Unless you're super addicted to the looks of the 18's or getting a killer deal on tires, I would suggest dropping down an inch or two in rim diameter to cut tire prices.
I'm running 37's with 4.5" lift and at stuff I'm still not contacting the stock pinch seam. Keep in mind the axle travels rearward when its flexes.

With anything wider then a 10.5" tire you will need wheel spacers to run the factory rims. It will get you a net backspacing of 4.75" which is pretty standard even when buying aftermarket wheels.

FWIW, the best spacer on the market is Spidertracs.
They are 1 1/2 " spacers.
Check the For Sale section. Sometimes they are in there.

how would the OP benefit by 6lbs difference per rim + cost of new rims????

I'm running true 37's on my stock Rubi's No issues.

That statement would work better if we were on a racing forum...Jeeps however would not really feel (IMO) that difference in rotational mass.

Like everyone said, you need spacers to get proper backspacing w/o rubbing. Also, either cut the pinch seam or take a mallet and whack that thing flat out of the way
