33's on a 17" rubicon rim
Ordering a 2012 Rubicon Unlimited and want to put 33 Duratracs on. I will be doing a leveling kit or 2" puck lift (undecided). Some say it will rub..some dont. The backspacing on rubicon rim is 6.25 i believe. I would rather not mess with spydertrax spacers..Can i do it? Should i try and limit it to a 10.5 wide tire then? And why wouldnt jeep make a wheel with better backspacing to accomodate larger tires? Thanks for your responses ..and patience!

You can either get an aftermarket rim and run wider tires like the 285/70R17 or 33x12.50R17.
Or you can go with 255/80R17 if you really want to keep your stock rims tucked in.
Many people here run 33s with no lift. I ran mine with no lift for a while and then added a 2" lift. You should be fine... .

Where did the km2 comments come from? He wants duratracs. And cutting the flares?? Really guys 
he is talking about spidertrax spacers to fix the issue, so clearly cutting the flares isn't going to do anything.
Go with a narrower 33 to avoid rubbing sway bars and potentially scraping the inside of the rear tires on the sway bar back there. Taller tires rub pinch seams and air dams but with the 2" kit you should clear both of those just fine.

It is the same width as stock, just a bit taller at 33". I mention it as it is the only tire I know of in this size that should have little rubbing. I think a 10.5" tire is a bit wider and will be more prone to "rubbing" based upon what I've read here on the forum with out adjusting your steering stops or lifting a bit.
So, that is why I mentioned the BFG.
