Default Tires & Wheels-Mickey Thompson Classic II question

So, I know that I want to run Goodyear Duratracs on MT Classic II wheels.

I really want this setup:
33x12.50R-15LT Duratrac Load Range C
MT Classic II 15x8 wheel size
5x5 bolt pattern
3-5/16 backspacing
-30mm offset
Load lbs. 2000

My concern is the break caliper issue. Don't want to grind. I've searched all over the internet to find a definitive answer on anyone running these wheels on a JK to no avail.

My backup plan is the 16X8 MT Classic II wheel:

5x5 bolt pattern
4" backspacing
-13mm offset
Load lbs 3100
and this Duratrac:
LT285/75R-16
Load Range = E
Rim Range = 7.0-9.0
Max Load = 3750
Tread Depth = 18/32
Overall Diameter = 32.8

There is about a $300 difference in going from 15 to 16 for the package, but that's not my only concern.

I wheel on rocks about 3-4 times a year, but mainly it's my daily driver.

4 door Sahara.

The 16 inch would be an easier decision if the tire came in a C load tire, but they only come in E.

My main question is, what is my better option, and does anyone know if the 15 inch wheel will fit.

Secondary questions involve the E, and do I need the extra sidewall protection. I've already blown 2 of the stock duelers out on rocks and don't want to buy anymore of those.

Also, with 3.3 backspacking on the 15's, I assume they'll stick out about 2" right from the flares?

Will this severely affect my MPG, vs the 4" backspacing on the 16's?

Yep. Can confirm this is the cure. Happened to me too. Just move the clamp on the Tierod so it's equal room to move to both sides.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what this means. Brake caliper grinding? I'm trying not to do that.

OK, now I'm really perplexed.

I wrote to Mickey Thompson directly, and they say both the 15's and the 16's will rub the calipers. I find that odd, since the 16 inch wheels specifically state they're for the 2007-2011 JK.

This is why everyone is confused about wheels.

There is a thread on 15" wheels, what fits what doesn't. I don't know of that extensive list mentions the wheels your asking about.

I run 17x9 Mickey Thompson classic rims with bead locks with no issues.... don't know the exact spec's on them but you can look them up and compare to your other sizes.
Also I run 35" Mickey MTZ's on my summer set up and for winter I have 35" Duratracs..... You've blown out side walls before and a weak spot on the Duratracs is the sidewall.... excellent tire mind you.
I'd be looking at a different tire or atleast thru Discount Tire Direct I'd be purchasing for $90-$100 the tire insurance which they will replace your tire for free if you end up destroying another sidewall.
