Default 285/75r16(33") Duratrac Questions

I just mounted a set of 33" Duratrac and MB Gunner wheels on my '07 JK. I just have a couple questions.

1) What a good starting tire pressure to run?

My tires shipped from DTD with 80PSI(max tire pressure) in them. I've aired them down to 40psi and the ride has improved dramatically. I've searched this forum and 28-33 psi seems to be the recommandation.

2) Prior to reprogramming my PCM with my AEV Procal I measured the tire. When aired down to 40psi it sits right at about 32" even. I assume this is normal since a 33" tire isn't 33 inches, and manufactures advertise tire heights at maximum PSI rating. Is this correct?

TIA

I run my 35" Duratracs at 35 pounds since I get a little better mileage there. They ride better in the 26 to 28 pound range. Advertised tire sizes are usually way optimistic...i.e. MAYBE accurate when not mounted on the vehicle, at maximum pressure, on a full moon, in Death Valley on the hottest day of the year during a solar eclipse.
