Making a 2.8 litre diesel sound meatier. Possible?
I have a 2010 2.8 litre diesel wrangler unlimited, and being diesel it sounds almost tractor like. I know being diesel it's not going to get that petrol v8 sound but has anyone got any ideas on how I can make it sound a bit meatier. Would an induction kit do much for a diesel?
I don't think ya could get a meatier sound out of a diesel powered JK, but if you pull the muffler and cat off and run straight pipe it could sound better, and may have more power to go with it, since you won't have any restrictions in the exhaust. This is my experience with the Cummins 6 cylinder diesel we have in the Dodge trucks. Oh, welcome to the forum.
Wait.... how do you have a diesel wrangler in the USA?
You could run a dynomax bullet muffler and nothing else. It would have a nice deep powerful sound. I would talk to MBRP Tech 1 here on the forums. MBRP is a great company and makes diesel mufflers too. Maybe they have one that would fit your size motor.

Other than the Turbo itself that is
A 2.8 will take on a Ricer sound when uncorked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZES9S...eature=related Like that "RUBICON" Liberty
wich isn't all that bad.
The real changes come when you really jam some boost through the engine. 56lbs of boost (3.86Bar) and being slightly overfueled and 20* timing sure changed the sound of my 5.9 LOL
