Default Need winch help!!

I just received my superwinch epi9.0 and pulled off the steel line it came with before mounting it and replacing with 85 ft of 3/8" amsteel blue....well the mounting point for the synthetic doesn't line up with the hole on the spool and the allen bolt is bigger than the one that was holding on the factory steel line. I am a noob with winches so I have no idea how to make it work....plz help!

Can you explain? I have tried it in every direction...I ordered this directly from amsteel blue and they said it would work. Superwinch also uses amsteel blue but not sure if the ones preloaded with syth have a diffent anchor or different hole on the spool. The set screw wont even fit in the hole...too big

It appears that the superwinch epi's that come with the synthetic line also have a different hub so won't work with the one I have so...I will be selling brand new in the box 85 ft of 3/8 amsteel blue synthetic line. It has a crushproof thimble, hd sling hook, 3 ft rock guard, and 10 ft heat guard. It is very nice line! Pm if interested

Can't you just Mcgiver the end to the hub. You tape the tail to the hub too and wind the line on the tail. It will hold no problem as it bites on the line to keep it tight. If you ever get that low on the spool you should be using a extra tow line for the difference in length.

I dont like the idea of being stuck on the trail with a piece of tape holding the end of the line to the hub....they anchor them with a screw for a reason

Yes but that little screw is not going to hold anything. You don't let the line out much more then the last level of line. You tape the end of the tail along the drum and wind the line over it. That is how you wind up a synthetic line.
