Default 2 Questions regarding Supercharhing my Jeep

1. My jeep has 5.13 gears with 35's automatic. Is it better to have stock 3.73 gears if I get it supercharged?

2. Does any one know the MPG for a jeep that is Supercharged with 5.13 gears, 35's and automatic?

Both questions r equally important.....

Millerman999 has his 4 door supercharged. I ride with him sometimes, and damn his power is great!

The mpg calculates to around 20 on the dash. But i don't believe it's 100% correct.

He has a 5.38 ratio.

Gas mileage may not be so bad, well after the new wears off. You'll have to down shift less and won't hit the higher rpms as much to get the need power.

I seem to remember that Ripp recommends regearing before installing their supercharger...so you might want to stick with the 5.13s.

Edit: found a post by RIPPMODS that talks about gears:
We use the 4:88 with 35's and a supercharger - its the best combo for all around - the 5:13 are our gear of choice in the city and for rock crawlers - the fuel economy is real with a blower - but it really depends on your right foot - Most people see 2mpg gains with the charger added...
It`s an old thread though...not sure if things have changed.

If your considering a RIPP Supercharger - then:
  • Your gear and tire combo are perfect by our standards -
  • Most forum members have seen a 1-4mpg increase - at very worst it stays right where you are now with 100more HP.

How much does a supercharge usually go for? Install and all, out the door pricing?

I have the stage 2 RIPP GEN 2 on my 07 JK, with 35's, Auto, and 4.11's. I have noticed a gain of about 4mpg on the highway with mine and I get on it a lot to pass and almost never do less than 70-75.

As far as gearing, I am looking into gearing mine to 5.13's as well so I would sya you have a great start to get the supercharger from RIPP. I love mine!! it has torque like the old inline six's down low and will run like a 5000lb vehicle with some umph up top.
this is great input thank you
