I heard from someone that the Crawler setting actually gets better mileage than the Mileage XS: Fuel Economy setting. Can anyone confirm this?
Anyone using the Crawler setting at all? I haven't tried that setting yet and wondering if I should use it next time I go wheeling, instead of the XS setting.

I used the 87 octane setting and get great mileage. I ran the rubicon this past weekend with 87 and it worked just find (didn't use the "crawl" mode).
I'm taking the jeep in for service in three weeks and will have to return it to stock. When I get it back I will try the economy mode to see if it's any better than 87. Right now, I'm sold on the 87 setting. It feels like it has more power, gets better mileage and even works better off road.

We have 85 oct here in Denver. I was tempted to use it with the 87 setings.. but kind of worried. I tried the 87 settings also, but couldnt tell the difference between the 87 and XS setting. I think this is going to be a study case of mine for a month or two.
Back when my JK had 285 KM2's and the TF 2.5" coil lift the best I ever had was 360 in one tank on the millage XS tune. Right now I have mine on the "tow" tune. and get around 280-300 a tank with the 37's and 3.73 and 6 spd.
i think the "crawl" tune only helps in 4-low. I asked Superchips a few months ago about running 85 with the tunner and they said they dont reccomend it.

I run mine on XS mode, auto with 4.10's and Saraha Stockers and I get get 17 if I baby it and 15 if I am hard on it.
I run it on 87 when I run my 37's and adjust the tires size and I can get 14.5 if I baby it and 12 with no regard and 10 with a mixed bag of offroading and street driving.
Best I saw out of it was 20mpg's all highway between Cincinnati and Columbus, drove down and turned around and came right back, kept the cruise set at 67 the whole time.
I haven't messed with the crawl feature yet, was thinking of doing this next time out. Hell I just figured out today it will display numerous amounts of real time data, including trans temp if you have Superchips make you a custom tune.

I think my big problem with fuel consumption is I have a heavy foot. I only had fast cars before my JK and I guess I still want to go fast. I just need to learn to drive differently.
The crawler tune is used for four low. It delays the timing in the throttle so that you don't let out onthe clutch and break traction or jerk a lot. It is awesome for rocks and hills. Takes driver error out of the equation.
