Default '11 JK 4-DR : Help Me Choose Lift!

Hi, All! I need some help deciding on a lift kit for my 2011 JK Unlimited (Sport). This is my third Jeep, but I'm having some trouble deciding on what route to go for this one...

I plan on running 35" tires and I'd like for little to no rubbing. This vehicle will be primarily a daily driver so ride quality and comfort is relatively important, although eventually I will sell my '92 YJ so I'd like for it to still be able to handle light to moderate wheeling. I plan on installing front and rear heavy duty bumpers, so I'd like to plan ahead for any sagging. Oh, and I'm not a big fan of the forward rake.

So... Given that information, who has suggestions? Pictures appreciated! My first idea was the AEV 4.5", but I don't like the clearance lost from the relocation brackets. My second idea was the BDS 3", but I was turned off by the cam bolts.

For 35's on a JK, you can look at the 2.5" - 3" range on lifts. For the best overall ride, a coil lift is preferred, but a BB will do if you're on a budget.

I'd definitely look at these companies for the best overall quality lift for your money:

Teraflex
Rock Krawler
Old Man Emu

Thanks for the response! I'm definitely interested in a coil vs. BB. I had OME on my '02 KJ and it did me well. The cheaper the better but I don't want to be disappointed or end up replacing it a year down the line... I'm not opposed to spending a little more money to do it right the first time, but I need to consider the cost of 35" tires & new rims.

Don't overlook Clayton. Their 3.5" lift sounds like it would be exactly what you're looking for. Stuff is completely bulletproof and so far the customer service has been great.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I appreciate it. Anybody have anything to say, positive or negative, about the Rough Country 4" X-Series w/ Steering Stabilizer?

I love my Currie 4". Lots of flex and better than stock ride. This is with 37's.

A lot of people have had problems with the Rough Country coils sagging over time.

Not the most favored brand here.

And you don't need to replace your steering stabilizer, unless it gets smashed on a rock. The stock one works fine. I would, however, recommend that you relocate it up and out of the way with this: (just the bracket, not the combo)

Just cheap insurance on that one.

Trying to decide if the AEV is worth the price tag.

I have a 4" Pro Comp coil Lift and 35s. It rides great. It is a $600 lift. I added Front LCAs (to avoid cam bolts) and adjustable front and rear track bars to recenter everything (and to avoid using the relo brackets). In total, I spent right at $1000 as there was a rebate on the lift. I Have put 7k miles on the setup as my daily driver and could not be happier. I have a friend that owns a Jeep Store and he has installed over 400 of these lifts over the last 3 years with not one complaint. Check out the pics to see what it looks like. Oh yeah, I have 1" Teraflex spacers in the front to account for the rake and the extra weight of the aftermarket bumper and winch. Good Luck

My 2.5" Skyjacker lift is great for the money. No problems whatsoever and it's spot on leveling the front and back.
