Not counting lift/wheels/tires.. If you could only do 1 mod, what would it be? Whether it be looks or need, what is the one you can't live without?

winch, i have spent too many hours digging and dealing with that when my jeep was stock.

If you have to wait a couple years to grow you can get by having fun stock BUT a winch plate and winch will pull you out of places you maybe shouldn't be.

#1 mod beyond lift/wheels/tires?

Protection. Get sliders, or bumpers, or t-case skid, or engine skid, or evap canister skid, or gas tank skid.

Having a winch won't help you if you just destroyed your gas tank or mashed your engine's oil pan (and pick up tube just inside it), or you cracked your t-case, or picked up some nice body damage that just shaved $3K off the re-sale of your rig.
