Default teraflex performance leveling kit vs stock spring swap

so i did some research, trying to find results on the teraflex performance leveling kit and found out i can achieve pretty much the same thing for a fraction of the price. i am now just trying to find out how they both ride and handle.

my stock x is way to jerky and jolts me around a lot over rough terrain. its not shocks as i just replaced them with bilsteins about a year ago and it didnt help. i feel like the teraflex would ride better than just using different factory springs.

also what factory springs would i need to use to achieve the same lift as the performance leveling kit on a soft top, 2 door, x?

Probably get some 4th springs, the fronts labeled 17 & 18, with rears labelled higher than what you currently have.

Look for a post in the stock forum called "let's solve the stock spring question"

Springs are the single biggest factor in ride quality imo. I just put on a brand new pair of $1000 Elka shocks and the Jeep still rode like shit. Changed out my springs to the Evo Plush Ride ones and literally could not believe the difference. it feels like I'm driving a brand new Jeep. You'll need some springs that are nice and gushy yet still firm.

The stock coils on your light 2door are too rough, so you want to replace them with stock coils from a much heavier 4door, and you think that they will somehow make the ride smoother??

Aftermarket 2door coils...

That's what I'm trying to figure out. The end goal is more than 2in of lift. But if I can improve the ride while doing it that's what I want to do. Even if I have to get aftermarket stock height springs and run a spacer, I'm cool with that. I don't know what springs I need though.

Correction: "NO more than 2in of lift".

Awesome. Glad to hear they helped the ride. I have been telling people that springs are equal if not more important to ride quality for along a long time. Glad you found out this result.

Thanks

We only make a 4" spring at this time. Its 4" of lift on a stock 4door JK.
