Default OME Lift help for the newbie

Ok so Ive decided that I want to go with an OME lift for my 2dr w/ an auto trans. Ive done I think at this point to much research. What else do I need? Some say adjustable trac bars, some say no. What shock do I go with? I'm gonna buy it from Dave at Northridge but they are to many options to choose. Biggest question, do I need a new front drive shaft? It seems to be yes becuase of the 2dr w/ auto. Is a new shaft going fix the problem of hitting? What about the use of the AEV brackets? Do I Not need a shaft if I use these? You can see what I'm dealing with trying to figure all this out.

Which of the dozen+ different OME coils are you going with? What extras you want/need will depend on your actual lift height and your personal preferences.

I'm thinking the standard coils. I'm going to everything as a package. I have know idea of how much lift I will get or what I night want. I don't know enough about this stuff.

Do you have the factory bumper front/rear or aftermarket? Do you plan on installing a winch at some point (can't see your profile)? If you plan on doing these things, I would suggest HD coils. From what I've read the 618/619 coils tend to sag (think those are the standard coils)..,

I went through all the same questions a couple of weeks ago. I was looking at the $880.00 OME package deal from Northridge. After spending time on the phone with Dave and asking lots of questions,

ie: what about adj trackbars to center the axles?
what about adj control arms to correct caster?
what shocks will I need?
what about brake lines?

I ended up buying the OME LT lift kit that includes shocks, brakelines, adj lower control arms, adj. front and rear trackbars, etc.

Ask the questions, explain what you are looking for and the type of driving you want to do and he'll help you decide all of this.

Base the decision on the weight you plan to add and the total lift height you want. As a rough guess-timate, expect 2-2.5" from the light coils, 2.5-3" from the medium, 3-3.5 from the heavy, and maybe 4-4.5" for the +40's. (there are others for diesels, and some type of super heavy coils that northride has indicated would not be a good choice for JK's). You can also expect the medium and light coils to not handle weight very well, so keep that in mind.

As you go higher, the additional components become more important. Axle centering, caster correction, bump stops (especially if you disconnect), longer links, longer brake lines or brackets, shock length, etc.

The OME LT kit suggested above is a good option, as it includes all of the components you would want. (not 'need', but want).
