Metallic clicking sound while on the move
Hey all. This has stumped me for months and I still can't figure out what's causing this. Right after I put 33's on my JK (it was stock before then - tires were my frst mod), I noticed a strange metallic clicking noise coming from the undercarriage only while I'm on the move. It's not rotational - it clicks faster and louder as I go faster but isn't rhythemic like the rotation of a tire. It almost sounds like someone put a small thin metal piece to a string and had it drag under my JK.
Since then I've been underneath my Jeep several times to install my levelling kit, quick discos, and etc. and I have not seen anything that would cause this noise. Nothing around the tires, nothing hanging down the undercarriage. To this day, I still hear it. It's irritating.
Anyone else have this issue or have any idea what might have caused it? I am just hoping it isn't a blown bearing or something. Like I said, it only happened after the 33's went on and my JK was bone stock before that.
Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

if it's not rotational or rhythmic, it's most likely a rattle caused by something a bit loose. if it's a sharp clicking, maybe one of the tack welds on your exhaust crossover heat shielding, if it's more flat, could be an evap canister line tapping on your tub. this happening right after the new tires may just be a coincidence.

Hey, I had pretty much that same problem after a lift install. Went over everything several times, and then, after thinking the mounting bolts were tight, I grabbed a shock, and it rotated just a little, so i tightened them, and now it's gone. control arms were clicking some also, but not near as irritating as that loose shock. Hope this helps.
