Question Bilstein Comparo

Can anyone provide an easy breakdown on the difference between Bilstein 5100/5150/5160? I know there's a good price difference in there but can't really tell if the 5160s are worth paying twice as much. I've read several long posts on shocks but they all seem to diverge into different paths.

I currently have the TF 2.5" Coil lift w/ shock adapters on the stock Sahara shocks. I'm looking for a better ride (mostly DD, so "soft-ish"). Also, if I disconnect the sway bar for offroading, any issues w/ shocks over-extending?

I'm in the same boat.
Looking into the 2.5 OME HD lift with LT OME shocks. And wonder about using the Bilstein shocks instead of the OME shocks.

I would also like to konw if anyone used the Bilstein 5100's with the OME coils.

It rides better than it did when it was stock but the 5100's are geared more towards a faster rebound/recoil over bumps so it feels stiffer to me. Supposedly they give a great balance between on and off-road. I love them and will probably sticks with them if I ever swap lifts.

I've been in JK's with OME shocks and those are way softer. Maybe better off-road than the Bilsteins but the on road driving you may get a bit more swaying (softer feel). Maybe that is what you should look at? Zone shocks are also much softer (but I don't know much about quality)

intrested in hearing others opinions.

Edit** My brother in law runs a Sahara with a similar setup to me except he uses teraflex shocks. He completely disconnects off-road and has never had any issues with shocks over-extending.
Saw this thread and was going to chime in with the OP, being in the same situation. Your post took care of my question. Thanks.

Anyone specifically run any of the different bilstein models on their rigs back to back? (i.e. - upgraded from 5100s to 5150 or 5160?)
