Default Kilby onboard air system?

Does anyone have experience with the Kilby onboard air system for the JK? It's pretty pricey but looks fast and convenient. Is it worth the money?

Thanks in advance!

i have no experience with one on a JK but, if it's anything like what they had on the TJ, it's a good kit. but, for the money, i might get a powertank instead.

SoupSandwich is running one and I think he has had experience running air tools with it so you might try to pm him if he doesn't respond on this thread. Like wayoflife said it's pricey and a bottle might be better from a cost perspective...I'm looking into one of those.

cost and convenience. i love the way you can take a powertank off your jeep and take it to where you need it instead of having to get your jeep there.

Since we're off topic already, what size tank would recommend and how much does it cost to refill them?

You can build you own CO2 tank system for around $200.... crazy cheap and fills up a tire so fast it's almost a little scary. Check the Write Ups section for it!

CO2 will eat an air tank for breakfast in speed any day of the week, and it's portable.

The portability and fill rate of the Powertank (or other cylinder) is a big plus. The OBA systems are nice though, because you don't have to take them to get 'em filled. Nothing worse than lugging around an almost empty cylinder that can't get the job done, or worse, leaving your freshly filled cylinder sitting in the garage.

Default Kilby on board air.

I have their kit installed on my 2008 JK and love it. You will also need their relocation kit for the evap canister as that is where the air tank mounts. It's good for air tools and unlike a power tank, you can't run it dry as long as you have gas in the tank. It's pricey but as my father once told me, "It only cost a few dollars more to go first class". Good luck!
