You can run 33s on a stock JK.

However, if you want to run a wider 33 like a 33x12.50R17 tire, then you will either need new wheels with 4.5" of backspacing or wheel spacers if you use your stock wheels.

I run a Budget Boost with my 33s and it works great. If you plan on adding a bunch of heavy bumpers to the Jeep, then look into a TeraFlex 2.5" coil lift, which works really well for people on here.

I was thinking about the 2.5 coil lift by teraflex... I'm thinking about a leveling kit now

x2 on this, there are a few write ups about this exact lift and tire size that I read before I went with a bigger lift and 35's.

I run the Teraflex BB with 33's and it works great. It is not quite level though so eventually I will throw in a 3/4" spacer or upgrade to the Teraflex coils.

If you run the 2.5 coils with a levelling kit, you might need to address the driveshafts since that would put you over 3" of lift.

I would stick with only the levelling kit and 33s.

i just got 33s for my stocker, I am working a building an overland style jeep, nothing to crawl rocks. Gotta say 33x12.5 with the proper backspacing on a two door stock suspension looks damn good. check my profile

I know that cbeas runs a 305/65R17 (33x12.50R17) BFG AT on a levelling kit along with wheel spacers. I think it is the perfect example of a balanced JK.
