Just installed a k&n intake. If I accelerate lightly on the gas I hear a hissing noise comming from the hood. If I press hard on the gas It goes away And I get that deep noise I was looking for. Is this a serious issue? Anyone had this?

Big problem is I drive standard so my foot is hardly on the gas and I can really hear the hiss especially from 1-3 gear.

Suggestions?

 

Does it sound like a turbo or supercharger wistle?

 

your going to have a slight sucking noise, shouldnt be to evident other then the throaty growl a normal intake will give you...did you hook up your breather hose? that could be it. other then that I would inspect all of your straps to make sure they are tight.

 

Your going to have a hissing noise when acc. with a CAI. You also will hear a deeper rumble once on the gas harder.

 

Thats literally exactly what I'm hearing and I hear The whistle usually as switching gears in low gears as well. As long as it's normal I'm cool. I double checked everything as I did do the install at 1am after a flight home from Vegas...hahaha

 

its normal mine does it all the time when i just give it a little throttle its like a whistleing noise

 

It's normal. Mine has been doing it since day 1. People ask if it's supercharged sometimes lol! I wish!
