Default Electronic Traction Control out of control on Lifted JK

I have a 2011 2-door JK Rubicon that the dealer installed a 2" Daystar lift and 33" tires on before I purchased it. I live in the Ozarks and have a lot of very curvy roads with banked curves that I drive on daily. My problem is that the electronic stability control kicks in on any banked curve and automatically starts braking. It's actually kind of scary because I have no control over what the system does. I have turned of the switch on the dash, but it does nothing. The dealer is checking my steering alignment, but suggests just disengaging trwction control altogether. Any ideas about a fix or a cause?

after installing your lift, your steering wheel needed to be recentered. your dealership most likely didn't do this as the change wouldn't have been too noticable. still, it'll be off by a bit after a lift and this will get your esp to think you are in a slide. also, too much air in your tires will cause this to happen too. with 33" tires, you should be running closer to 32 psi

Thanks - the dealer tech is talking about completely disengaging the stability control - is that a good idea?

Of course not. ESP is providing some extra insurance on road. I have a 2.5 inch lift and never had problems with the ESP. Just recentering your steering wheel will fix the problem.

The steering wheel is centered - they checked that already. The tech is telling me that many owners in my area choose to disengage because of the banked curves, that they produce extreme wear on your rear brakes from constant engagement.

They are right! you'll need rear brakes soon. mine lasted about 35k. 4k of that was lifted with the stability control on. Now it's off and it handles great and I've got 10k on the rear pads and they are still like new.

The tech tells me that there is no steering sensor alarm in the computer, if the steering wheel was not centered would it create an alarm or code in the computer record? I have JK owners here telling me that their lift works fine with stability control. So far this dealer is not really willing to listen to me and it seems like they want a quick fix rather than a real solution.

08Yellow, do you find that you have any issues driving in snow and ice? That's my big concern about disengaging it. Also, is there a way to turn off the tone alarm when it is disengaged?

Ask the dealer to install a switch that you can Disconnect the ESP and connected back through this switch..This is what i have done.

Is this different than the switch that is already there under the AC?
