Default Rough Country 2.5 BB with RC 1.25 body lift - Question.

Hi all - I'm pretty new to the forum and have had my JK for almost a year. Love it. It's the black Sport model with auto transmission. I installed the RC 2.5BB lift a few months back and want to add a little more height without having to change too much as far as the driveline is concerned. Will also be going to 33's or 35's in the near future and also want to incorporate the 1.25 Body lift.

Question is: Since I hear that lifting the JK more than 3.5 may cause problems, can anyone share any advice if this would be feasible/advisable to add the 1.25 Body lift the the 2.5BB for a total lift of 3.75? The body lift seems nice and I've read several good feedback responses on this product.

Any insight on this topic would greatly be appreciated. Also if anyone out there has this setup -- some pictures would greatly be appreciated as well.

Reply to this thread or PM me anytime.

Thanks guys & ladies : )

I've got the exact setup no issues. I did eventually dump the shock extensions and put shocks for a 3inch lift. Links aren't effected by BL but I would recommend longer front sway bar links.

Everyone is correct in the fact the body lift will not affect your driveline. The body lift does not change the position of your drive shaft so you are all good.

Are their any linkage problems etc like there were on the TJs? or is that gone away with the newer 4x4 shifter found on the JK?

Why do u want the body lift?? With a 2.5 coil loft with springs from rc u can fit 35's if u trim the pinch seam near the back tire. I have the 2.5 lift now with 33's and can flex all day with out tire clearance issues. All a body lift does is makes u look taller and more top heavy

Driving down steep mountain roads here in Colorado at 65mph and on off camber trails I have never experienced a situation where my BL has caused a top heavy issue. You are changing vehicle dynamics with any modifications. I modest BL will cause you no issues. For me a 1.25 is as big as I would go just b/c of the gap it creates.

I agree. The "top heavy" issue is just another myth about body lifts. Think about it. With a body lift you are only lifting the body. With a suspension lift you are lifting the body, engine, drivetrain and frame.
