Default RR XHD Bumper

Just placed my order through Amazon.com for this bumper, free two day shipping it came to $383. Now I am wondering if I can modify the cheesy plastic skid plate to provide a little protection to the sway bar disconnect, and I am guessing it also helps with fuel economy by forcing the wind down and under the jeep instead of head on into the front end components. I looked at the skid plate from RR, but I really don't want that much weight up there. I also am wondering how tough it is to put a 1" spacer on to compensate for the expected sag from the new bumper and winch? My Jeep is a daily driver, with trips into the mountains or desert every weekend, I have never rock crawled, but that isn't to say that I never will, there is a pretty decent area about 35 minutes from the house, so I am concerned with maintaining the capabilities that I bought it for.

Call them back and add the front skid plate it protects that $1500 motor very well. The longer you own a jeep the more you will push it.

My mileage has been fine without any skid plate. 2011 2 door Rubicon and I get around 19 mpg mixed driving, and I don't drive like a prius either.
