Gobi Ranger Rack questions
First off, I love my rack, don't get me wrong, but apparently I ordered my Gobi Ranger rack too early because the air deflector and quick disconnects weren't included when I purchased mine.
How much does the air deflector help cut back the wind noise, and are the quick disconnects really worth it?
Also, how much are these, and who's selling them?
And has anyone used the shovel mounts? Are they worth it?
I ordered my rack directly from Gobi, if I recall.

I don't know how much noise is reduced by the air dam but i'll tell you I don't have a lot of noise with mine...I've just never run it without the air dam to compare.
The quick disconnects, I've got them, never used them. I suppose I may in the future but I've got a hard top and even with the quick disconnects it seems like taking the top off would be a hassle. I pull off the freedom tops and go doorless.

Wind deflector helps a bit.
The quick disconnects are overrated. I got my Gobi without the quick disconnects because they were on back order. So I ran the Gobi without them for a couple of months. During that time I had my Gobi off about 3 times. It was not a big deal to work with the standard bolts connecting the light bar to the rack. When I finally got the quick disconnects I put them on. They are a nice design and work well. However the amount of time they save is not huge. The biggest advantage is that you do not need any tools. The best I can say for the quick disconnects is if you like taking your softtop up and down it will pay off. Otherwise don't bother. The only negative thing about the quick disconnects is that since they are not bolting the rack to the light bar you have a little (I mean a real little) amount of play. Maybe the rack can bounce up 1/4 of an inch, maybe less. This creates no extra sound nor impacts its sturdiness.
Check out Alpha Expeditions for prices. They are on the forum. When I ordered mine I spoke to them on the phone and they were very helpful.
