Default Rockhard oil pan and tranny skid --> exhaust vibrating against it

Any bright ideas how I can eliminate my exhaust vibrating against my Rockhard oil pan and tranny skid plate? it is obviously too close, I am not keen to put a spacer inbetween as I want the clearance. Any thoughts????

It should have come with a spacer plate? If you haven't already installed that, you should try that. if you don't have that, I think they will send it for free. At least they did that for a buddy of mine. He and I both have the exhaust rattle problem even with the spacer. He stacked 2 spacers to stop it. I added a few washers.

Default spacer plate

Hi Will,

I am using the spacer plate as well, just a shame that it is just too close to the exhaust. I don't think a couple of spacers will do the job on my exhaust, I am thinking about wrapping some heat resistant cord around my exhaust pipe, similar cord you use for exhaust from burners, not sure where to get it here though..........rather annoying rattle, to be honest I had the rattle with my original skid plate as well, just more space to retighten the exhaust manifold (bottom part) but unfortunately you can tighten them only so much, don't want them to break. Cord will keep the exhaust pipe flexible.

Cheers,

Mark

I have the same problem, noise seems worse with standard tranny with how the pipe goes, was thinking about 2 spacers or some washers, the pipe seems to almost rest on the skid, not sure if it will be enough? Thanks for the info, this is on the list of issues I am having...

Mine is a 2010 and my buddies is a 2011. We both had the problem. I contacted rock hard and they said the included spacer should address the problem but it does not. I have the skid, the spacer and 2 washers sandwiched to the frame and it took care of the noise 99%. I can still get it going up an incline and lugging the motor really low, but thats it. I can live with that. You would be surprised what a couple of washers will do. The rattle was driving me nuts.

Default Rock Hard Skids

Poor design - definately not worth the money they charge. I'm surprised they are still selling the same flawed design. I took mine off a long time ago and put back the factory skids. No more rattle.
