I did the xenons and it took about 7 hours. The guy probably doesn't know what he might be getting in to. Do it yourself so you know how to replace them.. That is your best bet.

If it takes 7-8 hours and the body shop wants $500 then I don't find it to be a rip off. That's like $60-$70 an hour for labor, which I think is about the going rate at most auto shops.

So the real question is, what is your time worth to you? I think most anyone can do the install if they want to put the time in. If I earned $500, or even $200, an hour at work I would rather pay someone to do it. Unfortunately, I don't earn anywhere near that, so I would be installing these myself.

That is a rip off. I had my poison spider crusher flares and teraflex performance leveling kit installed for $400. The poison spider flares are a lot more involved than the bw flares.

Took me about 7-8 hours. Worst parts.......getting the stockers off, cutting the front inner fender wells, installing the front LED side marker lights on the fender, finding out that black doesn't go to black and white doesn't go to white on said lights. I also repainted the body in a lot of places because the stockers had worn through the paint. If I had to do it again, I could probably cut my time by at least a third. Do it yourself. The bodyshop will never take the time to do it right.
