What lift for stock bumpers and 37's
I'm thinking I want to run stock bumpers with 37's on my factory Rubicon rims. Since the weight of the bumpers won't be a consideration, do you think a 3.5" lift would be sufficient? I do plan to run a winch up front, and maybe AEV's integrated tire carrier in the back...but keep the bumper cover. I know if I keep the stock flares, and install new bumpers, I will need 4.5" of lift...but I figured a 3.5" setup might be fine with stock bumpers.
Anyone running a similar setup? I'd love to hear from you and see pics of your JKs.
Mine is a 4-dr also.
Thanks,
Jeff in GA

I run 37's w/ a front stinger & winch & stock rear bumper & stock flares w/ 4 in springs and have had no issues. Now I dont flex her out too much as I tend to just run trails & mud stuff...but no issues for me.
go with 4.5", check out Clayton Offroad http://www.claytonoffroad.com/
Due to the additional modification costs for 37's, I went with 3.5" Premium and 315's (34.5"), all I'll need to do to the lift is replace springs to 4.5" when ready for 37's.

So stock bumpers, front winch, and 37's still rub with a 3.5" lift even if you bumpstop down? I know I planned on 4.5" with new bumpers, but figured the weight savings might net me a 1" lift gain with the 3.5". I know AEV "assumes" the "new bumper" weight when they spec their lifts...
Sounds like the weight of the bumpers doesn't compress the springs "that" much then. I thought I saw a few 4-drs on here running 37s with stock bumpers and flares...and they looked "low" compared to most...not a great amount of wheel well gap.

Something to keep in mind is that not everyone on here actually takes there jeep 4x4ing so what will work for them driving around town won't work for you if you go off-road.
If you really want a low center of gravity (low lift) you can go with even longer bump-stops than what will come with your lift to prevent much up travel, but this might not ride to great if you prevent too much up travel in order to keep from rubbing.

2.5" BB and 2" BL, cut fenders, folded over pinch seem and still had to limit up travel in rear and can't use discos in front cuz of too much up travel with 37's.
