well, i'm sure anything is possible but, you'd have to do some significant hacking of your bumper to attach them to your frame rails and make it work right.

I took another look at the bumper and I think it's not worth the hacking.

It is possible you would have to remove the bumper and the airbag cans. The fabricate a bracket to fit behind the bumper to allow you to put a d ring on. Then cut the needed hole in the bumper to clear the bracket. Probably cheaper and easier to purchase a aftermarket bumper unless you posses the necessary fabrication skills.

Why not just cut off the crush cans and install a set of Rugged Ridge D-rings? I'm sure someone with a pre-runner or stinger would sell theirs, and they bolt right onto the end of the frame.
Cheaper than buying a whole new bumper, but won't look as awesome.

I could have sworn I've seen someone do this.

Or go with a Channel Bumper - Minimal Fabrication skills required - only a slight weight increase over stock bumper.

Find a 2x6 channel iron about 5 feet long. Cut it down as per your personal preferences in length and shape. Drill mounting holes and top off with teraflex shackle mounts. Use 14 or 16 gauge sheet metal to span space between bumper and grill - heavier if you want to mount lights. Easy touch ups with rattle can bed liner.

And no damage if I bump and obstacle.
