Default Best rock rails for ingress/egress

Have a wife and baby to transport around so a side-step is super important for me. Right now, I'm running the Sahara plastic side-steps. Pretty tough on the trails, great for ingress/egress into the rear seats, but not sexy and will eventually get destroyed when I land squarely on that big rock sometime in the future.

Begs the question - what is the best rock raill that also provides good ingress/egress? Would welcome input from anyone, but especially parents and 2dr owners who carry passengers in the back. Thanks!

My ACE rails work great. I got them when the wife got pregnant.

x2 on ace! theyve held up great and I've hit them hard a couple times, just lost a little powdercoating. very functional as a step as well, they don't angle up as much as other rails I've seen. plus they are warrantied for life if you break em on the trail.

I know the Evo sliders don't offer too much of a step but my ex was 4'11" and they gave her a little help gettin in my 4 door. Can't say about the baby thing.

I'll throw out my vote for the LoD's. They have a step built in to them, and work great as sliders too.

Merlin man I'm really liking your build. You got a nice setup for 33's and these LOD's are sweet. Awesome man

I currently have Smittybilt ROck Crawler rails that have steps on them, but they suck as a step - they are too high.

My buddy has ACE and I'm going to switch to ACE, they fit with the stock rails and because they fit under the stock rails they provide a better step.

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with it...so far.

And for the record...my wife is just over 5' and change, and she can get in and out of mine pretty easily. (I threw a grab handle on to the passenger roll bar to help with this though.)

Heres a picture of what the EVO RockSliders offer as a step.

Just enough to be used as a step if needed, while staying close to the body so they dont hit every rock you pass, just the ones that get close. (Thanks Bondsy for photo)
