Default 35" MTR's on Rubi Rims...on stock carrier.... not so much

So after reading all the threads about 35" fitting on the stock carrier, I upgraded to 35" MTR Kevlars... Hoping to get by on the stock carrier for a while until the bank account is recharged. I'm not sure how everyone is doing it, but 35x12.5x17 MTR's DO NOT FIT. In fact its not even close. It hits the top of the bumper as well as the brake light to the point where you cant even begin to line up the studs.

I guess I'm in the market for a rear bumper / tire carrier.

Any suggestions on a basic, clean lined, well build simple bumper/tire carrier combo?

You need to get an adapter. Rough country makes one under $50 as does expedition one and probably a few others. It moves the wheel uo and out for clearance

Yea the back spacing on the stock/rubi wheels isn't quite adequate for the stock carrier when running 35x12's. No problems with my DC-2's though... but if you are set on running the rubi's, there are a number of spacers out there as well as off-setting adapters. there are a number of people who will tell you with a tire that size to not run it on the stock carrier do to weight issues. that can cause some problems down the road. I myself am holding out at the moment for new rear and carrier, but in the mean time when I wheel, my spare gets pulled off and tossed in the back and strapped down so I don't put too much stress on the rear gate.

In terms of a carrier and bumper, it all depends on your style and budget. I'm a sucker for the AEV rear and carrier and the poison spyder set myself.

I have this and I'd recommend it for the price. Helps with tire size and gives more support for $100 dollars shipped to my door.
