Comparatively speaking the Cooper STT really doesnt get that much in the way of adoration compared to the usual suspects you see here on the forum when talking about MT's: Its always KM2's, MTRK's, Nitto's & Toyo's.

Just curious why that is, since in my opinion the STT was a really good tire & its actually a little less expensive option.

Copper STT are great tires and made in the USA ifI remember correctly. Lots of brainwashing about the Falkens and BFGs for sure!

I've always liked them based on looks and reviews but from what I've seen recently they aren't any cheaper km2s and mtr.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Toyo opened an American factory. I've never been a fan of the STT's, softer compounds, thinner sidewalls. But i have to agree with the dirtman... why do you care what people think about your tires?

They were on the top 2 of my list next to Toyo and the price was a big determining factor. They were far more expensive than the Toyos in a 37". So guess which one I bought?

I love me some STT's - I've never been one to jump on board because everyone else does.

You won't find much negative on them and a lot of jeepers love their tires under the Mickey Thompson brand.

Some people complain that they chunk on rocks, living in Louisiana I don't expect to spend a lot of time on the rocks.

They also don't have a deal with a auto manufacturer so they don't have that captive audience to get the tire on the street.

If you like'm buy'em

I found 33s (285/75/16) at a discount at easy-tire.com for $188 per and had them shipped to a local installer. Not sure if the sale is still on but I got mineearlier this month.

Edit - Just checked they are up to 236 per, still a $20 discount from MSRP

treaddepot.com has a $75 rebate going on for Cooper tires. Usually can get STT's in the mid-to-high $200 range depending on size

A couple things....first to the two posters who are worried why I am worried about if people like my tires, I dont run the STTs currently, I have KM2's.

I had the STT's a while back, this was just a matter of curiosity as I did really like the STT's & wondered why they werent often brought into the conversation w/ the KM2's MTRK's etc.

And yes can find the STT cheaper then the KM's, Nitto's & MTRKs...I believe tread depot has some 37's for 315 a tire.
