Hey Everyone,

I am looking at purchasing a 2012 model- and I was wondering what the opinions out there are regarding an automatic transmission v standard. Which is better especially in the 2012 models? It seems like you have to special order the standards from what I have seen- but that's no deterent.

From early reports it seems like the automatics with a 3.73 or better are quite nice. Gearing has been improved from the 4spd model.

I still enjoy my 6 speed though.

 

I just picked up my 2012 JKU with an automatic. Came from a 2007 with a 6 speed. The new engine's power is more evident with the automatics probably due to better gearing within. I am very happy i chose auto, was totally sick of clutch, clutch, clutch. Sure is nice to hold my coffee while driving to work now.

 

I went form a 2009 Auto to the 2012 standard, And I am loving it.
