I'm really getting sick and tired of you 2012/ Pentstar Fanboys!
So I decided to join your ranks!

2012 Rubi, 6 Speed to join our magical beloved 08 X 6 speed. The Rubi is a stripper, only options above the base Rubi are the Max Tow (so we can tow the boat) and the U-connect/evic system with the higher end radio package and Subwoofer. She even has roll up windows!
No complaints, great dealer, Len Stoler in Westminster MD gave it to us for 29K. I traded my seldom used 2010 Challenger R/T on it and the trade in was also very fair.
This one will be the "gentelmen's wheeler", not going to go mod crazy but use it for trips we take and longer wheeling trips (Uwharre and so on). Plus, this will be the one we use for the dream driving trip to Moab instead of shipping the X out.
I don't know if I can put in words the difference for on-road driving compared to the 08. I guess something like a Caddy that can wheel???
Powertrain is well night and day, I actually did a burn out and it chirps gears!
More photos to come

Thanks for the comments.
Just took it for a 60 mile jaunt, I can't find any faults with it except I have to adjust the window cranks from hitting my knee when down!
Not taking anything away from the prior 3.8's but, this new powertrain is a home run from Chrysler in my opinion. It's V-8ish in its torque curve, it think I have used 6th gear tonight more times today than I have in the past 4 years with the 08. They are just that night and day for on-road performance, it runs like a raped ape. Granted it's a 4:10 ratio being a Rubi so, I don't know how much difference a Sport or Sahara 3:21 or 3:73 ratio would be. I don't have to carefully judge of the laws of physics when accelerating onto on-ramps. KM's do however make a cool interesting "bark" (not a chirp) when banging the 1-2 and 2-3 upshift.
the major test will be next weekend when we take both wheeling. I'm afraid however that the off road comparison may be a little skewed, since our 08 is an X and the 12 is a Rubi so the 4-1 transfer case is a night and day out of the gate versus the 2-1 on the 08 X.
It's almost impossible to truly quantify the vast differences, especially since I have equal love for both our JK's. The interior is a carry over from 11 but, that is pretty eye opening for me coming from an 08. It's like a Caddy, Mercedes or something, I never imagined carrying out a blue-tooth synched voice activated call in a Jeep. They also must have done a change to the soft top as there is zero buffeting or traditional Jeep road/top noise..... very strange.
The downside, it's far too nice and far too refined to randomly cut and mod in my opinion. I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to take a "yeah that's about right" torch, cut and mig stuff wherever the feeling strikes me. I don't see my self text-screwing Molle gear and welding ammo cans everywhere like the 08.
The other main upside to this is, with the addition of this Rubi it will allow us to start on the re-power of the 08 and not be Jeep-less during the project. Now I have to seriously start searching out the doner parts for the re-power. As well as make the decision of going 5.7 Hemi Manual or go Cummings 4BT turbo diesel.
From my opinion, it really seems that Chrysler went above and beyond to keep it's "soul" and off-road capabilities intact but, massively upgrade it's on-road capabilities. We really should expect a large influx of new JK owners, it is just that good and will appeal to many people who would otherwise steer clear of a Wrangler. Does that spell doom for the Wrangler, I don't know but I doubt it. I am sure the same arguments were laid out from the TJ crowd against the JK and probably as far back when the GPW converted to the first CJ.
If you are a current owner and on the fence about the new powertrain, do yourself a favor and drive one. I know everyone is screaming about a 40K Rubi (and yeah I saw allot of them) but, ordered right and from the right dealer I was out the door for 29K. With the trade of my Challenger essentially 21K so, it was a win-win for us.

Yeah, it lifts the nose hard under heavy acceleration
