Thumbs down Skyjacker Hydro 7000 shocks are JUNK!!!

Tried them with a terraflex 2.5" BB. The fronts kept the axle 2 inches from full droop and the ride was so rough I broke my driver's seat and I've got a nasty sound coming from the windshield frame or roll bar that sounds like it's coming apart. Quadratec insisted they were the right ones but they trashed my JK. I'm pissed!

That's odd because I almost always use Skyjacker Hydros, specifically because they are valved softer for a better ride. I've never had a single issue with the multiple shocks I've used from them on multiple Jeeps. Hmm..

How did your seat break? How much do you weigh?

wow - that's one rough ride or one heavy person to break a seat. shocks must be solid steel rods with no movement.

Did you mix up the sway bar links with the shocks on install?

Pic of you sitting in broke ass seat would be good.

I honestly think the sheet metal floorboard would give way first though.

Too bad. First thing I am not a fan of those shocks. That being said the droop problem is a function of buying shocks that were too short. If you didn't run them, they could have been exchanged for a longer shock for free.

Next, they are a VERY cheap shock - one of the lowest price ones on the market. They are not gas charged. In general, you get what you pay for. The best cheap shock I've ever owned was an ES9000. It is gas charged but also very stiff. If you want to ensure a good ride, buy an adjustable shock. That way it can be set for whatever condition you want (hardtop on, hardtop off, doors on, doors off, packed with gear, empty, no passengers, 4 people in your rig, towing something, towing nothing, etc.).

Good luck!
