Default 16s vs 17s for 35's

Anyone have any input on running 16 vs 17 wheels? I ran 16x8 with my Toyo 35".... Had no trouble and loved the extra meat on the wheel. I'm about to buy new wheels for the new jeep and was thinking with maybe sticking with 17's this time.

Anyone want to throw in their 2cents?

16's. Tires are much cheaper and they look better with more sidewall

Less rim and more tire is the way to go for offroading in my opinion. I am running 16s and toyo 35s myself and love the way they look and the way they work offroad.

I went from my stock 17's to 16's when I bought my 35's, and with all the discounts it was cheaper in the long run buying both rims and tires... So monetarily yes 16's...

Running stock rubicon rims with 35's and love the way they work so far offroad
The main thing I look for is staying away from a "E" rated tire and try to get a "c" rated a jeep doesn't need that much load capacity and rides way nicer also. A person don't have much choices besides E rated in a 16 inch because majority of commercial pickup trucks run 16 inch
I rather go 15 or 17

I just saw ATX isn't making the chamber's anymore. They were the only 16x8s with 4.5 backspace I could find.... anyone have any leads on other 16x8s?

Aren't stock Moabs too thin for 35's? I was told they will wear abnormally because the tire is ballooning. Any feedback on this?

Nah, lots of folks are running 35's on stock rims. You just have to run spacers, which can turn into an issue if your shop has rules against touching vehicles with spacers. Also, depending on the shop, they may not mount a wide tire on a rim that is narrower than the mfg's spec.
