Mine did. And performance improved, too.
After a re-flash last year, performance improved again.

When I bought my Jeep, the dealership said my gas mileage should improve after the first 20000km or so....kind of a "break in" period before the vehicle reaches its optimum performance level. They were right. But I have to admit, I don't know the actual mileage, I just know that my fuel from one fill to the next seems to be lasting longer...even after having added heavy aftermarket bumpers and a winch.

^^ this.

Generally mileage improves after "break-in". But with all the crap we add to these Jeeps, not usually.

The first tank or two on mine, I calculated not so good MPG. It steadily improved over the next month or so and now has leveled out. Started off around 16 MPG..mostly hwy. Now I'm around 19..again mostly hwy.

Mine has declined but I'm sure the mods have more to do with that than anything!
