Default 2012 First oil Change per the Oil Monitoring System?

Has anyone with a 2012 has had the "change oil" message yet? What mileage? New Jeeps get 4 free oil changes and I believe we are back to the 5w30.

Is this for everyone or did you make a deal with your dealership?

I only received 1 free but I did the first myself at 1000 miles. I will use the free one for the next.

Hmmm, my dealer told me to leave the orig. oil in for at least 5k, since they put additives in to to help with engine sealing. Could be BS, but as far as I know he had no interest in telling me a lie on that one. Either way, 5k is not too long, but it also is never a bad thing to change your oil.

It's called Owner Care:

It also includes a 2 yr roadside assistance.

Chrysler Group LLC is driven to provide peace of mind ownership and best in class service. There´s no better way to experience that other than at Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep. That´s why we're including a complimentary 2 Year/4 Oil, Oil Filter and Lube service with the purchase or lease of every new 2010/2011/2012 Chrysler Group vehicle on or after May 3, 2011*.

* Residency restrictions apply. Excludes Durango Citadel, Journey Lux and Fiat models. Details and a copy of the Plan are available from your salesperson. Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and MOPAR are registered trademarks of Chrysler Group LLC

It looks like it's only for "Daytona Dodge Chrysler Jeep". Is that correct or is it with any dealer and that's just their quote?

I recently ordered a 2012. One of the dealers I was "interviewing" told me this was a Chrysler program they have been doing since 2007.

You buy a "package" of 4 oil changes from Chrysler for $40, which includes service, oil, and filter (not disposal), and any Chrysler dealer can do the service. Then the dealer gets reimbursed.
I'll find more about the program when I take delivery.

I was just at the dealer for an issue and saw they also offer "buy one, get three free" oil changes. So for around $50 I will get 4 changes. When I go back for my freebee in 6 months, I will be getting this. I cant do it myself for that price!

Its very nice that your local dealer throws that in for you!

But to answer your OP, no light yet. I am very curious if it will come on in 6 months, not just based on mileage. I typically drive less than 6k per year, so I change oil every 6 months, not mileage based.

I saw that one of the dealers in Indianapolis offers lifetime free oil changes and brakes.
