Local tire guy can mount, balance & install with new spline lug nuts for $3,000. Online folks will deliver mounted & balanced for $2,700. Lug nuts are worth about $45, so is it reasonable to pay $250 for peace of mind that a locally owned store will look after my interests for just over 8% profit? I'm thinking this would include rotate & balance as needed for the next couple months until I'm down the road to my next project. I'm keeping the old tires & wheels from a stock 2011 4-door Rubicon for now.

Am I missing anything here? For peace of mind I'm pretty sure I'll get new TPMS sensors unless moving the original ones over is much cheaper.

Is this for 4 or 5 wheels and tires?

I mean this in the most sincere way possible... instead of "thinking," ask. You're about to drop $3,000, there should be no "thinking" about what you are getting in terms of product or service.

Best,

JB

Set of 5, the price includes lifetime rotation by the chain of a half dozen stores. But this doesn't mean much to me as I'm moving from the area soon. My goal is to work through any issues with the mount & balancing with someone in person rather than someone over the phone in another state.

I guess the real question is what the chance ill have problems with tires bought online?

Price for 5 includes stealing the TPMS sensors from the existing wheels and putting them on the new rims and restoring the original tires & wheels to usable condition.
