Default 15 inch wheels

Question for you guys. I have searched and found different things. I have an 08 sahara unlimited. I puked the front shocks and steering stabilizer and chewed up the front tires. I am getting ready to put new tires on it. Can I put 15 inch wheels on my jeep. I want to put 325/65 dick cepek fc II on my ride but I can't afford lift for another month or so. Question being can I put 15s on it, what backspacing do I need to run that tire, and can it be run for highway use until the lift is on in a month or so. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thats a wide tire to run with no lift. Im not sure but i would think you would need about 3.75 inches of backspacing.

You will want your BS to be around 4.5" and may need wheel spacers. You can also trim your fenders to help with clearence.

A buddy of mine ran my 35's on his jeep with no lift and factory 17" rims with no issues. He has 1.5" wheel spacers so it helped.

Can I run the 15s without issue or does anyone know. I have been told there is an issue with brakes so I would like to find out before parts are ordered

15's are hit or miss on the calipers. A rim may be fine on one corner, but rub on another. Or fine on one JK, but rub on someone elses. The work-around is to go with low backspacing to move the rim out far enough to clear.

Generally, that is a maximum of a 4" BS. (you will be better off with 3.75" or less though, just in case).

Typically 3.75 backspacing will set you up good. My MB72 are 15x8 with -19 offset(equals 3.75) and no clearance issues. They are close though.

I can save enough money to buy lift if I do it all myself and buy 15s. Any ideas on lift???

Depends on your budget. Can go with a budget boost for alittle cash or even a coil lift for not too much more. What are you trying to spend?

Around 1700 for everything. Want 35/12.5t15 BFG ATs and a decent lift. I think I could put it on myself.

Just get a 2-2.5" spacer lift and chop your flares. Taller coil lifts will get progressively more expensive with the added components, up to and including new driveshafts.
