Line-x..or just spray on Bed Liner?
ok--just went for a quote to my local line-x guy to do my rugged ridge rock rails, or-fab carrier and bumper. they want 500 bucks for everything and it'll take about a week. on one hand, for 500 bucks it'll have a really nice professional look and will be sprayed with some pretty industrial stuff..
on the other hand, 4 cans of duplicolor bed liner will run me 20 bucks..
i could buy a winch for 500 bucks..
advice please--
thanks
steve

Nothing is like Line-X... best stuff on the market. Little pricey but just like everything else you get what you pay for. Only negative i have with it is IF you do chip it or whatever it is a booger to fix just because you have to do some major sanding to get it down to respray.. which Line-X is guaranteed for life.
So with that said my vote is for Line-X

Why would you line-x anything that will contact rocks unless it's just for looks. You'd be throwing your money away. My rear bumper is already scratched and scored from landing on rocks and my sliders have gashes over 12" long along the sides. I'd never pay to line-x them as it will look just as bad but $500 poorer. I just sand my scratches and re-shoot them with rustoleum satin black. They look good as new each time.
That being said, I use the the spray on liner on my steel flares. When I hit those, I just sand the scrape and re-shoot them with my $6 can. They always look as good as new. When I run out, I buy more. If you were going to spray all the stuff you mentioned, I would at least consider reshootable liner on the stuff you may hit while off roading.
If you're only doing it for looks, then spending $500 one time is probably good for the quality work they'll do.
Oh, the line-X dealer by me won't continually prep and re-spray my marks. They'll only cover defects in prep work or the product here in Northern CA.

If they want fix your scratches call line-x or email company it is guaranteed an its meant to be worked with an abused an stand up to it....sounds to me like they just dont want to do it just because it is such a booger to fix ......
Alot of the big time rock crawlers an people who do this every weekend thought this was the best stuff made (and it is) just not for underneath an things that are constantly in contact with the rocks.

If you plan on doing any rock climbing or hardcore wheeling at all, it would be a waste of money to do Line-X IMO. Its your money, do with it what you will.
Oh and Line-X does not warranty body armor of any kind so if it gets scratched....you're on your own.
Just my
