Default Air'em up. What's you got.

I want to get some kind of air system. Power tank is awesome but 400+ is kinda of pricey. What are some other options.

This is mine. A bit pricey and you'll have to fab up a bracket to mount it. The compressor is about 500 and the tank was about 65. Then another 100 in hoses, fittings, regulator, safety valve, etc. ViAir makes some nice kits. Check them out.

My Powertank is awesome - to air up a 35x12.5" tire from 12PSI to 28PSI takes about 30 seconds max

Im guessing you can do that about 15-20 times.

Where do ya get it filled up at? how much does it cost to fill it up?

Are you considering compressors? I love my Viair 400PA. The automatic feature is nice. When the line pressure hits 100PSI (cuz you aren’t inflating) it stops automatically. Very nice when moving from tire to tire, or pausing to check pressure (on the built in gauge).

I considered others but went this route hoping to not be replacing it all the time. So far it is fast and works well (used 3 times so far). People will push the cheap ones "it has a replacement guarantee" but a replacement does not get you aired up on the trail if it croaks on you.

Haven't used a power tank . But from personal experience I love my on board air system that consists of a York 210 and a 2.5 gallon tank. I don't have to worry about filling tanks up like powertanks. Flip a switch and instant air. Besides airing up tires can run any air tool all day long as long as u have gas in the tank.

I use the arb compressor. Works fine. It takes a while but is very compact and light. With the special bracket (Northridge) easy to install.

I agree, powertanks are awesome. But I'd hate to get caught with an empty tank, and knowing me.....I probably will...

I have the power tank and the arb compressor. I use the arb 90% of the time. When its cold or nasty out I use the power tank. I also have the system set up so my power tank can run the air lockers in case by compressor stops working. I can air up a 37 to 30psig in about 2.5 min. Each tire.

Picked up a 1500W inverter on ebay for $70
Porter Cable 150 PSI 6gal compressor $180 (with so many other uses)
Oh and I did pay about $70 for the inverter wiring...

But all in all, pretty inexpensive way to air up, and quick. Just use a tie down in the back for the compressor.

Have some blurry pics of the setup. The inverter is pretty long and about the only "dryish" place was on the backside of the rear storage compartment. You can see 1 of the bolts sticking through, with black caulking to make sure the hole is watertight.
