They are a great tire on rocks but you will wear them out quick on the road. Soft rubber compound short life on pavement.

I run these in the 37 size. They are sticky on the rocks. The noise is doable on the road. The life is about 30k. On these tires worn is what you want. Many of the pros burn the heck out of them before the first use rock crawling. But they have sponsors. I have had them in the snow and they were the best tires for the conditions I was in during a snow run/blizzard. Long story. Rain and mud they work awsome. I am buying the 38.5s now one at a time for my next set.

Iam just running 17 steel rims soft 8s. They are easy to bend back on the trail. Lol and I can't afford the OMF beadlocks I really want. I have a LCG 6inch LA from Teraflex. Look at my specs and you'll get more info. I have just now got my 35 spline axels in front and rear. With the 5:38s for the 38.5. All I have to say is make the axels bomb proof for these tires.

You should do fine. By sleeving your stuck with the stock spline or a arb 30 spline locker. Make sure you get some quality axels. I went with the RCVs kept breaking u joints and ears.

The tires come in a red label and a blue label in the 37's and only a red label in the 39's as far as I know. Red label tires are not DOT tires and are about a 10K tire on the road, or about 15K if you rotate them every 1K miles.

I rotate my 37" blue lables and they have lasted well. I have about 90% tread left. These tires are sticky in either version. The "smoking the tires" competitors do is to soften the tread for better grip during a stage in an event. It works, but the treadlife is shorter. These tires will put a LOT of stress on you powertrain. I run dual 60's. All this talk about gusseting and sleeving 44's? Good luck with that. If you wheel even a little agressively, if these tires hook up while you're on the gas, you will spin your splines, or snap a u-joint, or bend a tube, or...

I won't even get in to the DOT issue for those of you driving around without DOT tires on the street.

Krawlers dig in the snow. They are not a good snow tire for any kind of fording in fresh snow. They offer no flotation, even aired down to 4 on beadlocks. My Toyo M/Ts and new MT/Rs run circles around my Krawlers. Even my old MT/Rs did better than my Krawlers in the snow. That is when I went to a Set of Toyos for winter and the Krawlers for summer. The Toyo is a better all around tire and I've owned several different brands, all in the 37" and larger sizes.

People run these tires because of the coolness factor (they are the winningist rock crawling tire in the history of the sport). They are expensive. They don't last long. I hope you don't live up north anywhere. I live in CA...

You give me a new set of 37x13.50x17 Toyos and I will trade you for my Krawlers (37x12.50x17 - blue label).

The 39s do come in the blue label.

As far a snow everyone has their own opinion. Google it and youbcan find archived threads on JKF with many saying the snow performance was great. I have also seen them in the snow and was highly impressed with them. That's just what I know first hand.
