If your just going to do moderate trails I would go with the budget boost.

I went with coils instead of pucks. I just like new coils and knowing I won't break plastic or indent aluminum.

Mine is mainly a DD also
I went with a AEV 3.5 with 35's
Because it just looks right
I also take it off road but don't plan on beating it
The AEV rides and handles better than stock on and off road

Don't know what style JKU you're getting...check your OE springs after you get it. There's a tag on the top of each spring with a series of #'s / letters. The last 2 #'s are your spring rates. It's really a crapshoot whether you get wimpy or sturdy springs. 19 front and 60 rear (IIRC) are the stiffest. If you end up with, say, 16's and 54's, you can get a decent amount of lift by finding a pair of 19/60 take offs from someone who's selling their after buying a new lift kit. That, added to a BB, could give you a fairly decent lift at very little cost.

I put a 3" Full Traction on my 2012 JKU Rubi as it is quite a bit cheaper than the AEV. It is high quality and rides just as well, I have had both. Get Billstein 5100 shocks to help your ride as well. I would not do a BB because the coil lifts are not that much more $$ and they improve the ride and off road performance. Just my Opinion. Enjoy

Between the BB lift or springs, I'd go springs. You get a better ride and better articulation.

I just ordered my 2012 also. When I went to test drive the 2012's one thing I forgot about and couldn't stand was the ride. It is my belief that most of the lift kits that provide new springs give a better ride than stock which is pretty much what you will get if you go with a spacer kit. The shocks will also have an impact. I am a huge fan of the OME shocks which are a great middle of the road shock that provides a great ride and isn't to expensive. That is why my current lift kit is going on my new jeep.
The benefit of getting a spacer kit is it is inexpensive and will give your new jeep a chance to brake in. Also if you wind up having a warranty issue you will be able to change it back to stock easier before taking it back to the dealership. You can always upgrade later from pucks to coils.
