Default Rock Krawler tie rod can't be used with Moog ends?

Dropped off a RK tie rod + two Moog ends for my dealer to install while they were doing some warranty work. I know its an easy install, but I haven't had any free time in awhile, and don't look to have any coming up soon.

Dealer calls back to say that even though they used anti-sieze, they can't get the Moog ends to go in all the way, and are actually have problems backing them out.

I explained that I've seen tons of threads from people running the RK tie rod + Moog ends. Dealer is a RK reseller, gives them a call, and says they told him there's a known issue with Moog ends having a slight curve in them that screws up on the RK tie rod because of the amount of thread interaction, and that they (RK) had posted this information somewhere publicly.

Was just curious if anyone had heard/seen anything about this?

Nope, but I have Moog ends at home and an RK tie rod on the way so I'll be watching this thread.

Never heard that one before and have a couple of friends running them so I'll have to ask if they had problems...good thread I'll keep tuned to see if there are issues since I need to replace my TR ends and was thinking about the Moogs.

I just did this combo back in the Spring and did not have any issues.
I remember seeing something about an older production run on the tie rod using this end, but not sure what thread and if it was the same exact issue or not.

Guys

Before you install the Moog Ends, put a straight edge up against the shank of the TRE and make sure it is perfectly straight and does not show a gap away from the straight edge. Moog had an issue where their shanks were not straight and it causes an issue. They will thread in about 1" and then they seize right up because of this condition. It is not all of the Moog ends, but there are bad ones out there so be careful!

My RK tie rod had some paint in the threads but was able to twist them in by hand with some effort. Not sure if that is part of their problem.

I'm running this combo also. They were a little tough going in but I haven't had any problems.

Well I got this combo as well, and had a shop install it about 7 months ago( I know, I know, I shoulda and wish I woulda done this myself, I am capable but at the time, I didn't have the time)anyway the shop said it all went smoothly and my Jeep is driving great, so if this would be an issue on mine I would definitely know right, how would one check this?

In my case, neither of the Moog shanks appear to have been totally straight, the shop apparently put a lot of pressure on the Moog ends to get them to thread in (), and ended up stripping the RK tie rod bar.

The shop said they had to use a 5-ft bar to get enough oomph to back the Moog out.

So if your Moog ends are in, and your tie rod is usable, I'd imagine you're good to go.
