AFE Y PIPE and High Clearance Exhaust on my 2012 JKU
...just some feedback after having the Y pipe and exhaust from AFE after a couple weeks.
the Y pipe does relocate the exhaust crossover back behind the crossmember perfectly. Your stock front driveshaft has clearance now.
The good:
The Y pipe is perfect. This adds no additional sound at all and keeps the equal lengths needed on each bank. The loop de loop on the drsd is left in place. I plan to use the EVO skids for that. The exhaust loop on the drsd is than protected and the transmission line is also protected along with the oil pan. PERFECT! worth the money and a great mod for the 2012's. Talked with the owner at EVO MFG. Great guy!
The bad:
The high clearance AFE exhaust however, I am hating! If I would not have put the stock exhaust next to the recyle bin, I would still have the option of putting it back on. Recyle bin was emptied! NOOOOOO! lol.
I would have the stock mounted back in place already. Wayyy too much interior drone. low end gives a raspy note. WOT sounds great. However, since you don't drive around at WOT all the time, cruise speeds @ 2K to3K rpms leave you with a very loud cab drone. too the point you can forget about using your phone/ U connect. This is with a hardtop btw. Think High School kid's Honda Civic.
I know some wil llike the louder sound and the added benefit of getting that exhaust up high, I will be putting this back to stock or trying a different exhaust very soon. I know there are a couple other companies releasing these now. So we'll see.
For a comparison, I have heard a half dozen other exhausts on the 3.8 on local trucks, and for the most part, did not have the interior drone I do. I'm sure this opinion will be different fron one owner to the next.
So, if anyone in the Denver area wants to swap for their stock setup, I will give you this new exhaust. Your exhaust must be free from dents. I am keeping the Y pipe in place though.
...my 2 cents.

i've had my exhaust on now for about 200 miles, and i don't have the drone. i wouldn't call it ricey at all. as i said earlier sounds very similar to a nissan 370z or g37, maybe a smidge louder, the raspiness at around 2800 is now gone. the sound clip i posted is very accurate. i have a practically brand new stock catback with 3000 miles if anyone's interested, i have no problems using my uconnect phone, and i've asked whomever is on the other end and they've told me the background sounds different but not louder, my girlfriend who i talk to everyday couldn't even tell i had a different exhaust. i do have the hardtop with hotheads headliners but doubt that would make that huge a difference but i'm very happy.

the install of the y pipe is very straight forward, you need to remove the protective bar in front of the cross over and the tranfer case skid plate, then it just 4x 13mm bolts holding the y pipe to the collectors and a 15mm bolt for the band clamp and it's out.

Let me know what you would want for your stock exhaust with shipping to 80013.
Thanks,
