Default CAI owners opinions needed please......

Hello: I have read and re read the forums, from top to bottom. I now know a lot of people dislike the use of a CAI in the jk, some stating thedanger of hydrolock, others saying it is a waste of money.

I would liketo hearfrom ACTUAL owners, from thepeople who run thesystem. In particular I want to know:

What product do you run?. What do you think about the product?. Do you feel any performance gains?. Did you see any mpg changes?. If you had to, would you change anything about the product you run?. Would you do it again?. Would you recomend the product you use?.

Please, I want to hear ONLY from actual owners/users.

Thank all, for your time and input.

Gonzzo.

we run a purejeep cai in our white jk and haven't had any problems with it even when crossing deep water. regarding perforamce, what i can tell you is that it'll make your jeep sound better but, that's about all i really noticed. in truth, you really need to clear the way from intake to header to exhaust to really see any significant gains in performance.

I run the sealed intake system with the proguard 7 filter from AfE and I would buy it again. No change in mgp, but the very slightest gain in throttle response.

I have the volant and havent seen huge improvments. I have always been a fan of cai when I use to own sports cars. Yes they can be exspensive but I have no issues spending the money from past experience. Been through some deep water and so far so good. I can see how it might hydrolock but with the way its setup that would have to be pretty deep or one big wave from entering to fast.

I have the AFE intake as well, and noticed a little more pep when accelerating. Not much, but noticeable.

I have the banks cai and it has a nice tone or high pitch whine to it! Pretty cool. Hydro lock is a very real concern.

I own the Airaid CAI. Haven't seen any huge improvements, but I put it on with a throttle body spacer, and a new exhaust. I did notice a pretty big gain in low-end torque. It sounds nice, and is cake to install. I would spend the money again. Never crossed deep water with it, but I feel like it would hold its' own.

Volant here. No noticeable changes on fuel economy or power increase. The engine feels a little bit more elastic by revving a bit faster.
As for hydrolock I cannot tell, but mine has a box similar to the OEM's filter so it seems it would work about the same way. Not planning to test that, though.

I have the air raid intake, and it felt like it improved throttle response. I have had a problem with the filter staying on though. After having it come off I really got on the clamp and it started to buckle the intake tube. After straightening the tube it has been working well now. I have about 10,000 miles on it.

I have a Banks Ram Air. I have noticed improved throttle response, I can hold 6 gear better at freeway speed's and I can even pass slower moving car's & trucks with out down shiftting. My mpg has gone up by 1.5 mpg, so long as I don't get hooked at listening to the roar the intake make's when pushing hard on the skinny.
