Rock Solid steering shaft and trackbar - in a 2012 with 3.6L
Ok, I'm reading too many stories of folks with steering issues related to the factory steering box. I've read and talked to EVO about their sector shaft brace plus I've read JKS's writeups as well. Both vendors need upwards close to 3" or so of lift to clear... well, you do that then you're in the new talked about issue of exhaust/crossmember clearance issues. Dang, you can't win for losing...
Anyway, I read the Rock Solid Performance writeup and install instructions and it appears the only "got'ca" they have is you basically need their front trackbar as well, but they're silent regarding lift (as in being required). So, from that standpoint I like it. The big down fall I can see it is basically attaches to the known weak factory front frame trackbar bracket. It's seems somewhat contradictory to make a brace attach to a weak link. Hmmm. But I also read where they have other variations of their stock bracket, so I guess a phone call is in order perhaps to more fully understand.
All this said, who is running their sector shaft brace and trackbar today? And, how do you like and can you say you've seen/felt an improvement in steering quality feel?
